Our Speakers and Musicians for the month of July are the Oltman's- Barbara and Gary. 

Each of these magnificent presenters could hold you enthralled on their own, but together, they are a dynamic team in action.

REV. BARBARA OLTMAN - BIO

Rev. Barbara Oltman’s mission is to inspire, uplift, and empower. She has been a student of Religious Science since 1995. She and her husband Gary were licensed as Ministers of Religious Science in 2011. She has spoken, sung, and served in many New Thought churches. She has facilitated Artist’s Way workshops, and created and led her “Writing Your Own Amazing Life” workshop.

Rev. Barbara believes in the healing power of music. A Southern California native, she studied voice at Chapman University and sang with the William Hall Chorale at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. From early roots in classical music and musical theatre, she expanded her repertoire to standards, pop, and rock. Her one-woman show “Only Connect” spanned many musical genres. She has sung for audiences at theatres, concert halls, clubs, and churches in the US and Europe.

She is currently semi-retired, enjoying time with her new granddaughter and writing her first novel.

Reverend Gary Oltman understands the power New Thought teachings, like the Science of Mind, have in transforming lives. He loves sharing how his life has evolved and become more fulfilling since he began his studies over 25 years ago. He was licensed by the Centers for Spiritual Living. as a Religious Science Professional Practitioner in 2002 and as a minister in 2011. He has served several previous Center Boards as President, Vice-President, and Treasurer.  He has served his Church/Center communities by leading visioning, meditations, meditation workshops, sharing readings, affirmations, and treatments from the pulpit, and doing treatment work for clients.  He has been a speaker at various centers and has facilitated workshops with his wife, Rev. Barbara. Rev. Gary founded the Peace Ministry at NoHo Arts Center for New Thought. He has also facilitated the discussion group “The Journey” with his wife, Rev. Barbara Oltman, and fellow minister, Rev. Sharon Earle. Gary has recently retired from one of the largest mental health and homelessness not-for-profit agencies in Los Angeles where he served as the VP of Accounting and Controller. He looks forward to spending time with family, including his new granddaughter, traveling with his wife Barbara, and having more time for creative pursuits.
